OUR PROJECTS

NYACK YOUNG ADULT COMMITTEE

The Young Adult Committee (YAC) of the NAACP Nyack Branch consists of members 21-40 yr. old.

​

We Engage In:

  • Supporting All Branch Activities

  • Stimulate Interest through advocacy training and solicit memberships of those 21-40 years of age

  • Create a Mentoring program to serve as a support bridge from Youth to College to Branch participation

  • Provide networking and social opportunities for young adults

  • Encourage the participation of young adults in all activities and leadership within the Branch

The Nyack Branch  NAACP covers Clarkstown, Haverstraw, Orangetown and Stony Point in Rockland County, NY. 
​The Nyack NAACP  was founded in 1928.  Since its inception, the Nyack Branch has remained vigilant in the struggle for freedom and justice and has acquired significant gains in education, youth work, housing, health, civic engagement and economic development. The Branch also has a great record for addressing education inequities, voting rights, housing discrimination, and racial profiling.
